One of Friends of the Community Upstate’s goals is to make signing up for services simple. Our Google Form allows families to register quickly with just a few questions—name, address, and number in the household. This helps us track reservations, plan meals, and demonstrate our impact to support grants and donations.

We would like to secure a building of our own, which will allow us to offer better, more flexible hours. Once we have that space, we can better support working families who need more convenient access. This will help ensure families receive the services they need on their schedule. It’s a key step toward making our mission even more accessible.

By offering delivery to individuals who are homebound, we address a critical gap in access and remove transportation as a barrier to essential resources. This systemic change ensures that mobility limitations, age, or illness no longer determine who receives support. Our approach shifts the model from expecting people to come to services, to bringing services directly to them.

We’re committed to bringing systemic change by empowering the very people we serve. Recipients have the opportunity to become active volunteers, join our advisory board, and take on leadership roles within our organization. By involving them directly, we ensure their voices shape the programs and decisions, leading to lasting, community-driven change.
